The church at Thessalonika honored God despite being small, having no entertainment, and few ministries and programs.

Five Characterisics of a God-Honoring Church:

1. Saved

• Too often we also try to live life in our own strength.
• We focus on looking good on the outside and not producing true spiritual fruit.

2. Surrended v6a

• We are to imitate Christ.
• Our biggest obstacle is our own pride.

3. Suffering v6b

• 1 Thess. 2:14–16

4. Soul-Winning vv7–9
5. Second-Coming Church v10

• Their hope in Christ motivated their labor.
