- Pray Always
- Acts 6:4; Romans 12:12
- Prayer should continuous and natural, not something we have to schedule and just do at set times.
- God will lay things on our hearts at times they're needed.
- All Prayer
- We are to pray a variety of prayers.
- Praise, thanks, confession, petition, intercession, etc.
- General prayers are good, but we are to pray for specific things as well.
- We should pray consistently and in faith.
- We can pray in any situation.
- Vigilance of Prayer
- "Watching"
- Matthew 26:41; Luke 21:36; Mark 13:33
- We should watch for answers.
- We should watch for hinderances to prayers.
- We don't ask.
- God wants to give us good gifts.
- We ask with wrong motives.
- We ask with selfish motives.
- We ask to fulfill our wills, not God's will.
- 1 John 5:14
- Often prayer is how God aligns our wills with His.
- Objects of Prayer
- We shouldn't just pray for ourselves but also for the needs of others.
- Pray "for all saints".
- v19 – Paul even asks for prayer for himself. No one doesn't need prayer.
- Power of Prayer
- The power of prayer lies in the Spirit.
- It's not found in eloquence or volume or repetition or emotion.
- Eph. 5:18
- "Filled with the Spirit" means being controlled and submitted to Him.
- Zech. 12:10
